Extreme Makeover *My* Home Edition

I use to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition religiously as a kid. I was hooked with the WILD transformations and a little too extreme, home transformations. This show made me believe that I would want to slide down from my bed each morning into a ball pit below… ok, honestly it still might be fun. Ball pit aside, I now appreciate the subtle, yet extreme, transformations that paint and lighting can do to a space.

I bought a 70s home in 2019 that had been pretty untouched from upgrades and updates. It was cared for but had zero changes, which is just how I like ‘em. Over the last 2 years, I took down a wall, removed popcorn ceilings, smoothed walls, painted the walls Simply White, painted doors and baseboards black (and a ceiling, my favorite part!), and installed beautiful wide-plank wood flooring. I updated lighting and fixed up some less exciting and noticeable home items too. Oh and by ‘I did these things…’ I really mean that I hired some amazing teams and people to help. It took some time and it still isn’t quite how I’d want it to be, but as everyone says, owning a home is a never ending project.

Let me know what you think of my very own, Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
